BRIGHT FRIDAY CELEBRATION AT CAMP NAZARETH

On Friday, April 28, 2006, the annual Diocesan observance of the Feast of the Theotokos of the Life-Giving Fountain took place at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church at Camp Nazareth, in Mercer, PA. Joining His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas for Matins of the Resurrection and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy were 20 Priests, 1 Deacon and more than 75 faithful from as far away as the Chicago and New England Deaneries. Following Liturgy a procession took place around the Camp Church where the Resurrectional Gospels were read at the four corners of Church. The faithful were then hosted by Fr. Michael and Pani Jesica Ellis at the camp's main lodge for a delicious paschal meal. The posted photos show scene's from the day's events.

 

"The Angel exclaimed to her.." The Clergy join His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas in the singing of the ninth ode of the Paschal Canon during the Matins Service.
 

"O Shine, O Shine, O New Jerusalem" Metropolitan Nicholas incenses the Church during the singing of the second troparia of the ninth ode of the matins Canon.

"Blessed is the Kingdom of the Father and of the Son and Of the Holy Spirit, Now and Ever and Unto Ages of Ages." Metropolitan is joined by 19 priests at the Holy Altar during the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.

Special guests at the Bright Friday celebration were some of the members of the Holy Transfiguration Woman's Monastery of nearby Ellwood City, PA.
