On Holy Thursday, April 20, 2006, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas performed the Rite of the Washing of the Feet at the Diocesan Christ The Saviour Cathedral in Johnstown, PA. In imitation of the most excellent humility of Our Saviour who washed His disciples feet at the Mystical Supper, His Eminence washed the feet of 12 members of the Christ the Saviour Cathedral parish community. Our Lord washed the feet of His disciples to demonstrate that He "...came not to be served but to serve." The Rite of the Washing of the Feet has been a long standing tradition of His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas at the Cathedral. His Eminence was assisted by The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank P. Miloro, Cathedral Dean, Protodeacon Emil Gulick, the Rev. Deacons Oleg Aminov & Elijah Bremer, and the cathedral altarboys. The posted photos show scenes from the Rite of the Washing of the Feet.
